Sóller and surroundings

Sóller remains a very local town; very few foreigners who have bought a Mallorca property for sale in Sóller live here all year round. Sóller is a few kms away from its port, Port de Sóller, both locations are connected by a cute vintage tram which is a major attraction for visitors to the area. A ride on the tram from the town down to the port is a wonderful experience. It takes you through orange groves and goes so slowly that you can actually pick an orange off one of the trees when you pass by!

The area is the perfect location for fans of hiking and mountain biking there are many trails for both sports, most are very well maintained and sign-posted, so you cannot get lost. Best buy a guide in town before you set off, so that you do not intrude on privately owned land. Cyclists will face great challenges and be tested by plenty of winding ascents and descents.
