Mallorca will reach 40 degrees today
Extreme temperatures do not let up. Tonight has been particularly warm and records were achieved between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius in Mallorca, where during the day today will rub 40 degrees in different localities.
The heat wave left yesterday temperatures between 38 and 39 degrees in many parts of the interior, north and northeast of the island.
Today continues the trend and is expected to 40 degrees in the northern and interior and orange alert in virtually the entire island. This heat wave "tropical" is due to warm air mass of African Mallorca affecting several consecutive days.
Begin to subside on Sunday and will be more noticeable decline on Monday, when temperatures despite summer and remain above 30 degrees, begin to soften.
Thereafter, are expected to remain tropical nights, ie, above 20 degrees, but softer than the weekend because not reach 24 degrees as in these days. The delegate of the Aemet indicates that it is the first time there is a heat wave in July, and so far had taken place in June, when he had not yet officially begun summer. In this situation, the Government recalls that persons intending to stay in the sun or in hot environments should try to avoid the middle of the day, gradually acclimate, wear light clothing, drink water frequently, often resting, eating little and regularly and not taking alcohol or household cafeína.
The Emergency Department advises having closed the windows and blinds during the day to keep out a lot of heat and ventilate the house at night.
