Villas to buy in Campanet, Mallorca

Situated in the north of MallorcaCampanet's non-touristy appeal makes it currently a popular location to look for villas for sale, particularly as the Mallorcan property market shows strong signs of recovery. This delightful small Majorcan town is often high on the list for those looking for villas for sale in Campanet.

Whether you're looking for asimple family villa in the centre of Campanet, a cool, contemporary villa overlooking the rooftops of the old town, or a luxurious villa-style property in the countryside surrounding Campanet, we at Balearicproperties.com/en would be delighted to help you find your dream villa for sale in Campanet.

Campanet, an attractive small town of around 2,000 people, is a popular choice for potential villa owners, mainly because it has avoided much of the large-scale development experienced by many of Mallorca's towns in recent years. Situated about 25 miles north of the capital Palma, Campanet enjoys a lovely location, partly in the flat Mallorcan countryside and partly in the mountains. Campanet is rather unique in the fact that its lower slopes feature a superb collection of cool mountain springs, which often fill up with rainwater falling over Mallorca's Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range.

Campanet, Living in Mallorca

Spend some time here and you'll find that the most spectacular of Campanet's springs are Ses Fonts Ufanes. These springs burst into life during periods of heavy rainfall, feeding the nearby plains of Sa Pobla, as we'll as the famous wildlife wetlands of S'Albufera. The springs are so unusual that they have been declared a national monument by the Balearic government!

A particular attraction of Campanet is the ancient well of D'en Gatell. Dating back to the thirteenth century, it served as the town's communal well for centuries, right up to the 1960s. Also definitely worth a visit are the caves of Campanet, as well as the ancient thirteenth century San Miquel chapel situated just outside town.

Campanet has some good places to enjoy a meal. Try Restaurant Es Mirador de Monnaber, a converted Mallorcan manor house which doubles as an eco hotel and spa. Here you can enjoy traditional Mediterranean cuisine and fine wine in the elegant dining room, or if you prefer, out on the attractive terrace. Another appealing option is Bar-Restaurant Menestralia, noted for its imposing tower. Located on the road between Campanet and Buger, it is ideal for a buffet-style meal at good value prices.

Campanet may be a little off the beaten track, but it is very easy to reach by car. The main Ma-13 motorway runs less than a kilometre to the east of town and connects with Palma and its international airport about 25 minutes drive away.

Taking all this into consideration, it's little wonder why so many discerning home owners often visit here looking for villas for sale in Campanet.
