Houses to buy in Campanet, Malliorca

Campanet in the northern part of Mallorca is an aspirational place in which to look for houses for sale. In fact, when it comes to houses for sale in Campanet, this delightful small Mallorcan town is often top of many house hunters’ lists due to Campanet’s non-touristy appeal.

Whether your ideal choice of a home in Campanet is a cosy apartment, a contemporary rooftop penthouse, a converted townhouse, a luxury villa or a ruralfinca, we at Balearic-properties.com would be delighted to help you find your perfect house for sale in the Campanet area of Majorca.

Campanet, home to around 2,000 people is a lovely town that has avoided so much of the large scale development experienced by so many Mallorca towns in recent years. Lying about 25 miles north of the capital Palma, Campanet has a distinct authentic village appeal and is a popular choice when looking for a house for sale in Mallorca.

Campanet, Living in Mallorca

Campanet earned its reputation through two major industries: shoe making and agriculture. These industries have declined somewhat in recent years and Campanet now tends to provide employment for the construction industry, as well as the service and tourist sectors of Palma, Inca and Alcudia.

Campanet itself enjoys a lovely location, partly in the flat countryside and partly in the mountains. Present in the lower slopes of Campanet you will find a plethora of cool mountain springs which often fill up with water from rainfall over Mallorca's Tramuntana mountain range. The most spectacular of Campanet's springs are undoubtedly Ses Fonts Ufanes. These come to life during periods of heavy rainfall and feed the plains of Sa Pobla as we'll as the famous wildlife wetlands of S'Albufera.

It is such an enjoyable experience to be able to stroll up and down Campanet's sloping streets, many of which emanate from Campanet's main plaza and the impressive parish church. Another thing to take note of is Campanet’s ancient well of d'en Gateit. Dating back to the thirteenth century, it served as the town's communal well right up to the 1960s. The ancient thirteenth century San Miquel chapel on the outskirts of Campanet too, is worth a visit.

Considering Campanet is off the beaten track, it's extremely easy to reach by car. The main Ma-13 motorway runs less than a kilometre to the east of town and connects with Palma and its international airport about 25 minutes away.

Another reason why so many people visit here looking for houses for sale in Campanet.
