Rafa Nadal married his long-time girlfriend Xisca Perelló, who is also originally from Manacor, after 14 years of being together. Rafa's closest  friends and were invited,  and also Rafa's coach Carlos Moyá,  Albert and Carlos Costa, Juan Mónaco and Marc López, David Ferrer, Feliciano López, etc. who all stayed at the 5 Star Hotel Illador close to la Fortaleza in Port de Pollença.  The wedding planner Sophie Kors was engaged for the wedding.

The Rafa Nadal Academy was the first  meeting point. Rafa's family, including his uncles Toni, and Miquel Angel, who played for FC Barcelona were transported to La Fortalesa on buses from Manacor.
