It has been confirmed! Tennis pro Rafael Nadal will be getting married on October 19 in Puerto Pollensa. The lavish wedding will take place at one of the most expensive properties in Spain, in the grand Sa Fortalesa estate. Rafa Nadal will marry his long-time girlfriend Xisca Perelló, who is also originally from Manacor, after 14 years of being together. What’s been called ‘the wedding of the year in Mallorca’ will bring together VIP guests and international celebrities in Puerto Pollensa.
The famous tennis player from Mallorca will get married in style, close to home, and surrounded by panoramic views. Xisca Perelló (Maria Francisca Perelló) is also from Mallorca, and no doubt the happy couple are glad to celebrate their most important day on this dream island they can proudly call home. Rafael Nadal and his fiancée have been in a long-term relationship, both sharing similar passions. Xisca has a business background and works closely with Rafael on his foundation.
VIP guests and international celebrities will surely attend this glamorous wedding in Mallorca. No doubt, fellow tennis players Roger Federer and Carlos Moyá will attend, as well as patrons such as King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Mallorca’s elite will also come together, making this an event to remember in Puerto Pollensa. The north of Mallorca is considered to be one of the most exclusive and discreet areas for high-net worth individuals, particularly around the Formentor peninsula.
Sa Fortalesa is an absolutely stunning estate overlooking the bay of Pollensa. The exclusive property was built in 1628 to defend the peninsula of Pollensa from foreign invaders. It is owned by British banker and politician James Lupton, who reportedly paid 40 million euros for the estate in 2011. Real Madrid football star Gareth Bale also married at Sa Fortalesa earlier this year. The Mallorca estate has also been made famous by the BBC hit series ‘The Night Manager’ (2016).
Our paradise island is well-known for its dream wedding venues, with a number of international celebrities choosing Mallorca as their ideal wedding location. Both signer Pixie Geldof and model Anja Rubik have gotten married in Deià. One of the top locations in the Serra de Tramuntana includes Son Marroig in Deià, once owned by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria. Singer James Blunt also married in Mallorca, at his in-laws’ country estate between Campanet and Pollensa.
Mallorca is the perfect place to get married, and it is also a dream location to buy exclusive country estates. Sea views, mountain views, citrus orchards, olive groves and historic country properties with Mediterranean charm are the perfect venues, holiday homes, rental investments or primary residence in the idyllic countryside. The estates in Mallorca are like something out of a fairytale, so naturally Rafael Nadal and his future wife have made an excellent choice. Congrats!
