Balearic Islands property sales improve

The Balearic Islands property sales stood at 683 units during the month of October 2012, representing an 
increase of 30.1% over the same period last year (when there were a total of 503 transactions), according to figures released Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The annual rise of housing purchases recorded in October is higher than the 9.1% recorded in August. Thus, the Balearic Islands become the second region with the highest increase in housing sales recorded after Castilla-La Mancha (34.8%).

With this balance, Baleares has a rate of 77 registered housing purchases in October by 100,000, above the national average that has an average of 67 transactions per 100,000 estate. On month, (October over September), housing sales fell by 9.8% in the Balearic archipelago, with 683 transactions compared to 622 in September. Of the 683 residential sales transactions recorded in the tenth month of the year, 663 were over 20 on free housing and subsidized housing.

Also, 56.2% were on second new homes and 43.7% on second-hand housing. For its part, the purchase and sale of previously owned homes rose to 299 operations, while the new floor was 384.

Adding the urban properties (houses and other properties of urban) and rural in Baleares, total farms was passed in October 3437, with a 20.5% increase over the same month of 2011.
