A beautiful old town and long golden beach

The stunning 18-hole Alcanada golf course (971 549 560), Owned by the famous Porsche family, it is widely regarded as not only Mallorca’s finest golf course, but one of the best in the world. It overlooks the Bay of Alcudia’s crystal clear waters and is surrounded by attractive pine and olive groves. The clubhouse is an historic Mallorcan mansion; its terrace offering views to die for.

There are some absolutely delightful hotels in Alcudia; one being the Hotel Cas Ferrer Nou Hotelet (971 897 542) in the old town which is described as ‘magical’ by independent travellers. If something on a larger scale is more to your taste, try the Polentia Club Resort (971 546 996 ) where the activities, staff and the food have come in for high praise.

Both in the town and port area of Alcudia you are also faced with an amazing choice of quality of restaurants. The Mirador de la Victoria for example (971 547 173) has great sea views from its shaded terrace and specialises in traditional Mallorcan dishes such as snails, suckling pig and guinea fowl. Or perhaps try Sa Romana (971 549 228), renowned for its family-friendly service and delicious food made with love.

How to get to Alcudia

Alcudia is an easy drive from Palma airport and takes about 50 minutes. Simply follow the MA13 motorway and it will take you almost all the way to Alcudia town.

Alcudia and Puerto de Alcudia are located in the North of Mallorca . The village of Alcudia is a picturesque town with an old medieval centre which is well worth exploring as well as the many restaurants and bars. Further 3 km away we find the Port of Alcudia , and the wonderful long & sandy beach area. Aucanada golf club is only five minutes away from the port and there are many pretty local beaches such as Puerto Pollensa and Formentor.
