A Seafront Jewel in the Mondragó Natural Park
A 1960 stone finca in the Mondragó Natural Park, Santanyí: 37,000 m² of pine forest and cliffs, and a private gated path to Cala Borgit.

Built in 1960 by an English family of Spanish descent and kept in the same family ever since, this stone finca in the Mondragó Natural Park has its arches, its wrought iron and a private gate to Cala Borgit.
This finca, a traditional Mallorcan country house, stands in the protected surroundings of the Mondragó Natural Park, overlooking Cala Borgit. It was built in 1960 by an English family of Spanish descent and has stayed with the same family ever since.
The numbers are generous but quiet: 350 m² built on a plot of about 37,000 m² of pine forest, cliffs and Mediterranean gardens, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, three of them en suite.

The house: stone, arches and wrought iron
What stands out first is the craft. The façades are natural stone, with elegant arches and traditional wrought-iron details, and the stone itself is Santanyí stone cut from local quarries. It is the same golden sandstone used for landmarks such as Palma Cathedral, Bellver Castle and the Almudaina Palace, and the honey-coloured buildings of Santanyí town show it.

Inside, the style is rustic, with high ceilings and exposed timber beams. A handcrafted spiral staircase leads up to the roof terrace, where the view runs through 360 degrees, taking in the Mediterranean coast and, in the distance, the Serra de Tramuntana.

The setting: Cala Borgit and the Mondragó Natural Park
The plot is the real luxury. Pine forest, cliffs and Mediterranean gardens open onto uninterrupted views of Cala Borgit, the turquoise sea and the natural park. From the gardens, a private, gated path leads directly to the traditional bathing spot at the foot of the property.

The Mondragó Natural Park was protected in 1992 and is known for its pine forest, wetlands and signposted coastal paths. It has three coves: Cala Mondragó, S’Amarador and Caló des Borgit, the farthest along and the least crowded of the three. The finca looks onto that third cove and is reached by a road with no through traffic.

Outdoor living and bedrooms
The house was designed for privacy, for family gatherings and for guests. Outside, a Mediterranean courtyard of about 80 m² is complemented by several terraces and shaded seating areas, made for long meals in the open air. A paved garden area offers scope for new leisure spaces or a landscaping project.

Inside, all four bedrooms have views of the sea and the protected landscape, and three of the four bathrooms are en suite.

Living in Santanyí and Mallorca’s southeast
Santanyí is the southernmost municipality on Mallorca, with about 35 km of coastline that takes in Cala d’Or, Cala Figuera, Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards, as well as the Mondragó Natural Park. The finca is a few minutes from the town itself.
Market and old town
Santanyí is a market town of honey-coloured sandstone. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, from about 9:00 to 14:00, more than 150 stalls fill the main square and the surrounding streets with produce, cheese, olive oil, ceramics, clothes and crafts. The market runs all year, on a smaller scale in winter. Outside market mornings the town is quieter, with galleries, bakeries and restaurants along its lanes, and the parish church of Sant Andreu Apostol holds a Rococo organ designed by Jordi Bosch. On the third Saturday of October the town holds Sa Fira, its autumn fair.
Beaches and coves
Beyond the park’s three coves, the municipality has Cala Figuera, a fishing village with a small harbour; Caló des Moro, a small cove near Cala Figuera that is popular in summer; and the sandy coves of Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards. To the north, Cala d’Or has a marina and more resort-style entertainment.
Day to day
Palma, with its international schools, is just under an hour away by car, and the hospital in Manacor is about 40 minutes from Santanyí.
