The Jazz festival in Cala d'Or - Mallorca

After a reshuffle, the Jazz Festival in Cala d'Or is taking place in its familiar form again, from Monday, May 19 to Saturday May 24.

Over the seventeen years since the first festival hit the scene, Cala d’Or’s Jazz Festival has become quite an institution. The original organiser was the German Rolf Wagemann, a passionate Jazz fan! Every year, he invited numerous bands to Cala d'Or in May / June. Last year there were eight bands from eight nations and the musicians played in the streets and squares for several days free of charge for holidaymakers, for the local Mallorcan and foreign residents: Dixieland, traditional Jazz and New Orleans. In addition to that there was also Rock ‘N' Roll and Latino Music. This year the municipality Santanyi has put together its own programme with local musicians.

Today Saturday 24th May:

From 21 to 24 Uhr: Long Time No Swing (Sa Marina Center, pedestrian area Cala Egos), Mardi Gras (Restaurant. Fernando), Pat Metheny Project (Avda. Bélgica), Zavellazz (Hotel Rocador).
