The capital and largest city on Mallorca is Palma. It is a city that combines the luxury amenities of modern hotels with the historic architecture and ambiance of an Old World city. The explosive growth in tourism over the last few decades has brought the world renowned retailers, finest restaurateurs and the trendiest night club promoters to the Mallorca.

The clubs in the capital as well as several of the larger resorts, boast venues that can hold thousands of partiers on any given night. In particular, BCM Planet Dance and Tito’s offer world class DJ’s and plenty of “beautiful people.”  Mallorca also plays host to dozens of musical and arts festivals throughout the year. Many long time residents, however, have come to love the island for its rustic charms including it native Spanish cuisine and slower paced lifestyle outside the resorts and Palma.

Sopes mallorquines is just one of the specialties of this island. This bread and vegetable soup has no meat but other Mallorcan cuisine is focused on lamb, pork and chicken with copious additions of garlic and olive oil. There are hundreds of small eateries located in the countryside that serve traditional fare at incredibly affordable rates.
