Strolling around the area of D’alt Murada - Calatrava becomes a unique experience for the senses. Enjoy its narrow streets and Arab influences that give it a special appeal. Near the Avenidas, one of the busiest parts of the city, you stumble upon the district called Gerreria, one of the most traditional neighbourhoods in Palma that has undergone a extensive transformation to become a modern and active district with a wide range of newly built, top quality apartments. Las Ramblas and the streets Sant Miquel and Sant Jaume are lively and colourful shopping areas, ideal for walking around and taking in the atmosphere. The old town is loaded with cultural places of interest, such as the Museu de Mallorca, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo and Baluard and fabulous real estate. Portixol has become one of the most desirable areas to buy a property. With the majestic Castillo de Bellver, the only circular castle in Europe which is situated in a forest considered the Palma’s green lung, as the backdrop the neighbourhood Bonanova, is a quiet residential area with stunning sea views. Even though the laid back tranquillity of Porto Colom is one of its main attractions, the town really comes to life in April each year by playing host to the TriStar Mallorca Triathlon which attracts over 600 participants. And if you’re partial to glass of wine or two, a visit to the nearby vineyards of Pla y Llevant is an absolute must. Several vineyards open their doors to the public offering tours and wine tastings.
