One of the most beautifull and attractive places in Mallorca, was the first carry out tourism on the island. Its great geography of colors, makes Pollença the favourite place for artists. Pollença is very cultural, there are many galleries and typical craftsmanship shops not only Pollença´s but Mallorca´s as well, like: Galerias Vicenç, and Casa Maria, Where they still keep alive the traditional family artcraft, the textile desing and the embroideries.

Every year since 38 years ago, they celebrate the “Music festival of Pollença” with the regular attedance of H.M. the Queen Sofia. Pollença gradually has been made the home of many Europeans, giving it a cosmopolitan character. A very typical thing, is the Sunday Market and the “Fira” in November where there are local products exhibited. Pollença has the best climate for nature lovers, for playing golf, nautical sports and excursions. The best hikes to make the North Mallorca are trips to the Puig de Maria, the Castell del Rei, Vall de Ternelles and “La Atalaia de Albercutx”.

Also the Formentor peninsula offers some lovely excursion, to the mountains Na Blanca and En Fumat for example. Or visit one of the isolated bays, such as Cala Boquer, Cala San Vicenç or Cala Castell, these you can also find on the peninsula of Formentor. Pollença is one of the best places to live in, to go for holliday and to enjoy the nature and art.

PUERTO POLLENSA

With fabulous white sand beaches stretching around a huge sweep of bay sheltered by the wild and rugged headland of Cabo Formentor, Puerto Pollenca magically retains an unruffled, leisurely atmosphere reminiscent of bygone days when it was just a small fishing port.

Set in the northeastern corner of Mallorca is Puerto Pollensa, famous for its long curved bay, surrounded by unspoilt rolling countryside, fertile valleys and breathtaking mountainous coastline. The long, white sandy beaches are safe for bathing and are not over-crowded. Puerto Pollenca still remains its natural charm and character from the days when it was a fishing village. The picturesque "Pinewalk" is now pedestrianised and has an extended paved boulevard from the marina along the seafront to the Hotel Illa D'or at the northern end of the resort. The international yacht marina has excellent restaurants and friendly bars. The many sporting facilities available include tennis, windsurfing, hang-gliding, horse riding and golf, at Pollenca Golf only five kilometres away. The old Roman town of Pollenca is certainly worth a visit, with its narrow cobbled streets, pretty plazas and some excellent international restaurants. Pollensa has a charm of its own. It is a haven of Mallorcan traditions. There are several country walks available in the Pollenca hills, mountains and valleys, or take a walk up the 365 tree-lined steps to the tiny church "Calvario". The climb is breathtaking, the view even more so.
