West from Palma on the road Palma-Santa Ponsa. It is an active
area with marinas, boats, tennis and entertainment, like Marineland
with its "sea world" and exotic animals. Portals Nous
is a typical spanish village which offers you restaurants, caféterias,
shops, bakery, supermarket, news paper shops and the swedish sea
food café "XLNT". Below Portals Nous is the modern
Puerto Portals, one of the most popular and beautiful marinas
in the Mediterranean. This place has a special flair! Here you
find a long sandy beach, boat brokers, fashion shops, big variation
of restaurants and bars on the sea side. Don't be surprised if
you see famous people spending their time here. A nice walk is
out to the light house where you can overlook the marina and the
impressive yachts or you relax on one of the benches under the
palm trees.
Above on a hill, in the green country side is Costa d'en Blanes,
a popular residencial area with possiblities for mountain walks.
A 30 km long walking and cycling path leads to Palma and further,
or in the other direction to Santa Ponsa. The public bus takes
you in minutes to Palma. Several golf courses are in the area.
